Sport & PE
Physical Education, School Sport and Physical Activity (PESSPA) are a major part of our offer to all pupils at Crow Lane. We are passionate about children developing as learners - in mind and body. We know also that this is the path to wellbeing for all and that physically active, healthy children will feel better and learn better.
We are a member school of the Youth Sports Trust, underlining our commitment to sport and PE, and long-standing members of the Pennine Sports Partnership.
We follow the Complete PE curriculum so that all pupils benefit from high quality PE lessons in which they develop skills in a range of sports and games, as well as develop as all round individuals through the My Personal Best curriculum that is delivered through PE lessons.
The Pennine Sports Partnership is a non-profit organisation with the aim of increasing opportunities for all people to access and participate in high quality PE, sport and physical activity and improve health and wellbeing.
It works to improve sport in school, both within and beyond the curriculum. A particular role is to increase the amount of competitive sport in which young people can participate.
Our commitment to involving as many pupils as possible in school sports has been recognised through achieving the School Games Platinum Award in 2025. This is only awarded to schools who achieve the Gold Award in 4 consecutive years.
We have been members since September 2019 underlining our commitment to sport and PE as a vehicle for individual and whole school improvement.
